Yamas is short for “Stin igia mas”: to our health. It means more than cheers. It is the feeling of sharing a generous table, delicious food and good company. Take your time, raise your glass and let your evening begin. Yamas!
An island feeling.
A family story.
Our family has brought a little of Greece to Texel since 1996. Nikos and Maria laid the foundations with Greek hospitality and traditional dishes. After a spell on the mainland, their love of the island brought them back in 2009.
In 2012, their son Valentino opened his own restaurant. At Yamas, those family traditions live on: gathering around the table, food prepared with love and the warmth of a Greek welcome.
Every traditional recipe was written by Maria, the mother of the family. She was not only the head chef, but also the heart and backbone of the restaurant.
